In Senegal, one in five children under the age of five suffers from malnutrition. The situation worsens when the mother herself is malnourished, often leading to difficulties in breastfeeding. As a result, supplementary feeding often begins before the child reaches six months of age, a stage when their body is not yet ready for it.
